• Mark’s gospel is a fast-paced book. The word “immediately” appears 11 times in the 1st Chapter.
  
• Focuses on what Jesus did vs what Jesus said. Focuses on the Works (vs Words) of Jesus.
• Written to a gentile (non-Jewish) audience, therefore very few Old Testament references, and doesn’t assume knowledge of the Old Testament.

• Key Application points today:

  1. We can trust in God’s Word.
  2. We need to live a life of repentance.
  3. We need to prepare to be used by God.
