Scripture repeatedly claims to be the Word of God. The Bible asserts that God spoke what is written within its pages. In the Old Testament, from Genesis to Malachi, this is what it claims. The prophets appealed to God's Word as the foundation of God's promises and judgments. Christ and His apostles also based the whole of Christian doctrine and life on the Scriptures.

Why is our understanding of God's Word so important? Because what a person thinks about God's Word reflects what a person thinks about God. The doctrine of Scripture is absolutely essential because the Bible is the only true source for all Christian truth. This study will help us understand that we can trust God's Word since it is the foundation to our faith.
